Scoop.it for curating a record of local positive news

Readers may be interested that I’ve been running a local Scoop.it website for good news from my industrial English Midlands city and its circle of rural hinterland. Basically it’s a blog in a slick Scoop.it jacket, and the project has been going for a few years now. I’ve used it to assiduously collect a curated set of links to local positive news stories, thus serving to counteract the local grumps and moaners with hard evidence for local optimism. I tend to avoid “might happen…” and “planned for next year…” news, as well as PR fluff, local charity stunts and “Duck rescued from pond!” stories. Instead I try to focus on the actual and the measurable.
